Kathmandu, Sept 6: Nepali Congress District Work Committee has completed preparations to conclude the BP Thought Journey in Sundarijal of Kathmandu, with various programmes on 9 September. The journey was commenced to commemorate the 100th birthday of the first democratically elected prime minister of Nepal, Bishewor Prasad Koirala (BP Koirala).
The nationwide journey that started on 18 August from Biratnagar will see a motorcycle rally on the 8th of September along with a grand gathering at Bishalnagar on the eve of the conclusion day. According to secretary of Nepali Congress Kathmandu Area no 3, Shree Krishna Jyoti, 100 tress saplings will be planted at the Shanti memorial Park and National Martyrs’ Park in Gokarna on the occasion of the congress leader’s birthday centenary.
After the plantation, that there will be a march from Gokarna to BP Museum in Sundarijal. BP spent eight years in imprisonment after the then king Mahendra assumed absolute power. The closing ceremony will be addressed by Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala.
