Bhimduttanangar, 29 Nov: At least nine persons were killed and 24 others were injured in a midnight bus plunge accident at Sahajpur VDC-2 in Kailali district, Superintendent of Police Bikram Bahadur Chand confirmed.
The bus (Na 5 Kha 5420) was in route to Mahendranangar from Dipayal of Doti district. The ill-feted bus fell 500 meter off the road near Vasubhir (cliff) along the Bhimdutta Panta Highway.
Identity of the deceased– five men, three women and a child– is not ascertained.
Security personnel have been deployed in a rescue job. The injured have been rushed to Padma Hospital and Sewa Nursing Home at Attariya, Kailali.
